Doing the Right Thing
Jim Sinegal, CEO of Costco, explained in Sunday's NY Times why Costco is the Anti Wal-Mart.
What's shocking is how many financial analysts disparage Mr. Sinegal for paying his workers so much, covering so much of their health care costs, you know, basically, acting like a decent person.
We need to vote with our dollars and support Costco. Besides, where else can you get a GREAT hot dog and soda for under two bucks?
You go, Jim! Thank you for recognizing that your work force AND your customers are HUMAN BEINGS and not just units to be manipulated for profits.

What's truly sad is that Costco's pizza is as decent a slice as you can find in Seattle. It's not the best, and it would only be up to Duplicate Ray's standard in NYC, but it'll do, pizza fans, it'll do.
Love that costco pizza.
As for the cheap dog and beverage: I ate at a place in Reno that had either two tacos or a hot dog AND a beer for $1.50. Even if the food is disgusting, the beer is as cold and hoppy as anywhere else.

Yea for COSTCO! I wouldn't shop anywhere else except at my locally owned businesses that support working men and women, public education, road taxes, etc.,...think that limits me? NO! Just talk to the proprieters. You'll know in less than one-half of a minute if you really want to give them your hard earned money. People love to talk, and business people more than most. The reason: THEY THINK THEY KNOW EVERYTHING. Just ask them, running a business allows them to make decisions for everyone 'cause the "meet a payroll", pay taxes, etc. Try it-you'll only need shop where your allies are...Of course, COSTCO supported Gov Gropenfurhuer's efforts to destroy Workers' Compensation in CA last year...but hey, they aren't perfect...like I am!
