Graydon Gives 'Em Hell
I admit, as a Vanity Fair subscriber, I usually write off Graydon Carter's Editorial Letter as typical puffery. But, I have to hand it to him, this month's letter deconstructs the myth of George W. Bush as "CEO" and it's really good. It appears that Hurricane Katrina caused something in Mr. Carter to snap: instead of his usual 2/3 of a page, Graydon takes two full pages (in small print) to say what we've all been thinking. C'mon, we all knew W's obsession with promptness was just a cheap-ass cover-up for no real skills, right?
Anyway, thanks Graydon for a terrific essay. You squeezed another year of VF outta me.
