To Honor Paul

I have to admit I was fairly ignorant about Paul Wellstone's politics when he was killed in a plane crash three years ago. Since then, I have received regular updates from Wellstone Action! and have realized what a bright light he was in a grey sea of mediocre minds willing to blindly march off to war.

Crooks and Liars has a link to Wellstone's anti-war speech from the floor of the Senate, which reminds us that not ALL politicians are hungry only for money or power. Some actually want to do the right thing. Take a minute to read it. It's beautiful.

I miss Paul Wellstone. He was such an inspiration. Wonder what he'd say about the state of the union today? -k
